  1. Is scuba diving safe?
Absolutely! Scuba diving is one of the safest adventure activities out there, thanks to decades of research and well-designed programs that teach you how to dive safely. You’ll learn all the vital skills to stay safe underwater—how to check your air, ascend safely, and avoid decompression sickness. When you follow the rules, it’s a thrilling yet safe way to explore the ocean!

  2. Is scuba diving hard?
Not at all! Scuba diving is incredibly fun and easy to learn. The PADI programs are designed to teach you the basics in just a few days, and once you’re comfortable with the gear, it’ll feel as natural as breathing.

  3. What is a scuba certification?
Your certification is your passport to the underwater world! Earning your Open Water Diver certification means you can safely dive up to 18 meters (60 feet). But this is just the beginning of your underwater adventure! From wreck diving to night dives, endless exciting options await you.

  4. Does my scuba certification expire?
Once you’re certified, it’s yours for life! If you haven’t dived in a while, you can always do a quick skills update with a dive professional to get back in the groove. This is called a PADI Reactivate.

  5. How deep can you scuba dive?
The maximum depth for recreational diving is 40 meters (130 feet). If you want to go deeper, technical divers can explore even greater depths—although it requires extra training and special gear.

  6. How old do you have to be to scuba dive?
Anyone aged 10 and up can start their scuba journey with an Open Water Diver certification. For younger kids, the PADI Bubble Maker program allows children as young as 6 to try diving and snorkeling in shallow waters!

  7. Can I scuba dive if I wear glasses?
You can still dive! While glasses won’t fit under your mask, you can wear contact lenses or get a prescription dive mask to see clearly underwater.

  8. How much does it cost to learn to scuba dive?
Costs vary by location, but whether you're diving in Thailand or closer to home, it’s worth the investment for a lifetime of amazing experiences. Reach out and I can guide you on prices and packages.

  9. Should I worry about sharks?
Sharks have a bad reputation, but they’re rarely a concern for divers. Most sharks will ignore divers or keep their distance. Just respect wildlife, and if you’re nervous, you can always dive in places where sharks are less common.

  10. Do I have to commit to a full course if I’m not sure I’ll like scuba diving?
Not at all! Try the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program first—experience the thrill of diving without the commitment. If you love it, you can then dive into the PADI Open Water Diver program and start your full certification.

  11. What should I expect from my Open Water Diver program?
Your Open Water Diver certification is a blend of theory, shallow practice dives, and open water dives. You’ll master dive safety, buoyancy control, and other essential skills to confidently explore the underwater world.

  12. How do I relieve ear pain when I dive?
Many people worry about ear discomfort, but once you learn the equalizing techniques from your instructor, it’s easy to relieve any pressure. With a little practice, you’ll equalize without thinking!

  13. Do I need to be physically fit to scuba dive?
No need to be a fitness guru! As long as you can swim on the surface and tread water, you’re good to go. Just fill out a medical questionnaire beforehand to ensure it's safe for you to dive.

Now that you have the answers, it’s time to dive in!
